This vintage hen is described in Shirley Smith's Glass Hen on Nest Covered Dishes Identification & Value Guide. She is molded of white milk glass on a basketweave base with a figure eight braided rim. Her head is turned to the left with a glued-in brown glass eye with a black pupil. Her tail is straight and she has two eggs on either side in the front and a single egg on either side of her tail.

Dimensions: This is the 7" hen. The base is 7 1/8" x 5 9/16", and the top is 6 5/8" x 5 1/8"

Marks/Dates: 1891-1915+. Hen is unmarked. Bottom of the base has a basketweave foot design.

Condition: There is a sliver on the rim of the hen (that sits inside the base). Otherwise, no chips or cracks.
