Fenton Milk Glass Hobnail Hankerchief Vase

Fenton Milk Glass Hobnail Hankerchief Vase

The Fenton Art Glass Company produced Milk Glass in the Hobnail pattern continuously over a period of some 40 years, from 1950 into the 1990s. This particular vase, called the 9" Handkerchief vase, is less commonly found then some and was only produced from 1977-1978. It is ware number 3855 MI.

It measures about 7 5/8" tall. As you may know all Fenton Glass made in the United States has hand made characteristics and one of those features, particularly found in the hanker chief and stretched vases, is that no vertical dimension is ever exactly the same. So while Fenton calls this the 9" vase it can be found a huge range of heights as is the case here. This does not indicate a defect or second but merely that the hand applied techniques produced a difference from traditional. It is 2 1/2" wide at the base and 5 1/4" wide at the top.

It is in excellent condition with no damage. It is pristine. I find no chips, cracks or nicks. There is no scratching and there is minimal wear to the base.
