Flaccus Bros. Milk Glass WHEELING Battleship Mustard Jar
This is the Wheeling in white milk glass. It has the name of the ship across the bow, and a series of gunboats and turrets - typical of vessels during the period of the Spanish-American War. These vessels have become collectibles and are becoming harder to find. Dimensions: Measures 6 1/4" long from bow to stern x 4 1/4" high. Marks/Dates: c. 1900. Signed "WHEELING" on both sides of the bow. Condition: There is a nick on the bottom of the stern point. The underside of the lid has some unevenness that was probably caused as people used utensils (i.e. a knife) to pry the lid off the mustard. Overall in excellent antique condition.
