Fostoria Milk Glass Victorian HP Ewer Chrysanthemum

This antique hand painted milk glass ewer is wonderful. Large yellow and purple chrysanthemums with soft green leaves are done on a slightly pinked ground. The ornate metal work is beautiful. This ewer measures approx. 18 3/4" tall and is for decorative use only - there is no opening in the top. Similar pieces are shown on pg. 170 in Long & Seate's Fostoria Useful & Ornamental book and on pg. 221 of Juanita Williams' Fostoria Glass Scarce & Unique Whimsies book. I believe this piece was made somewhere between 1887 - 1924 and probably once adorned a stately Victorian home. I gently wiped this piece off but it needs a thorough cleaning. There is a small scratch in the paint which I show in my pictures. No nicks, chips or cracks. Very good used condition. There are a few tiny paint spatters from someone painting a room and not covering it. These should clean off nicely. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for looking!!
