This is Mosser's Hen on a nest (HON) in black amethyst glass with a white milk glass head. Her head is turned to the left and she has a split tail. There are eggs scattered around her body. The base has a horizontally flared rim with a scalloped edge; a basketweave design under the rim and on the bottom of the base, and the sides have narrow, vertical ribs.

Dimensions: The base is 6 1/2" x 5 1/2" and the lid is 4 7/8" x 3 3/4".

Marks/Dates: c. 2005. Described on page 93 of Shirley Smith's Glass Hen On Nest Covered Dishes.

Condition: No chips, cracks or other damage.
