This wonderful vintage bowl was made in Murano Italy during the mid 20th century. It measures approx. 5" across x 2 1/4" deep and has purple strands and gold flakes scattered through crystal clear glass. The bottom of the bowl has an embossed circle design that reminds me of a tortoise shell. The edges are folded in making this a tri-cornered bowl. There are two flakes at the edge of the polished bottom which measure approx. 1/4" & 1/8". It's possible that the flakes were made during production but I can't tell for sure. The polished bottom shows wear which is a good indicator of age.
