Fenton Milk Glass Hobnail Covered Margarine Tub Candy Dish

Produced by the Fenton Art Glass Company between 1974 and 1989, this is a Milk Glass Hobnail Margarine Tub Dish.  This piece dates to the 70's as it has the original large oval logo with no date.

Originally the tub of margarine or butter was placed inside the bowl and covered with the lid making it much more attractive than the plastic tubs that the  product came in.

Today it is used in the same manner but is often found as a candy dish as well.

The edges of the bowl are scalloped into peaks and there are 8 panels down the sides that correspond to the 8 panels on the lid.

The bowl measures 4" tall and is approximately 5" wide across the top.

It is in excellent condition with no damage and minimal wear to the base.  Both the base and the lid are marked with the Fenton logo.
